Visual Domain is Australia's largest in-house video production company with creative teams across Australia, specialising in intricate solutions for video production to support a business’s marketing strategy. Everything from product videos to company onboarding animations, Visual Domain has a visual solution to suit any business big or small no matter the industry they’re in. I was approached by the Victorian Marketing Manager to assist with a presentation for Oxford University Press and explain the benefits of video production for online remote learning. I did this is the form of a case study, utilising statistics from Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and referencing Visual Domain’s blog articles simultaneously. Once the project was completed, I was once again approached by the Victorian Marketing Manager and offered the opportunity to provide regular blog content for Visual Domain’s website.

Meld Magazine is a not-for-profit online publication that provides relevant news and information to international students studying in Victoria. Initially taken on as part of my internship subject during my degree, I was asked to stay on after amassing my mandatory 105 working hours as a volunteer contributor. I accepted the offer and what was initially meant to be a month-long employed turn out to be a fruitful 10-month collaboration. Over this period I published 8 articles, accumulating hundreds of thousands of views, and was able to reach an international readership from a variety of countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil and the Philippines.

Crowd Media HQ is a creative social media agency based in Melbourne, that works alongside businesses to build brand awareness, increase growth, retain customer loyalty and build authentic customer relationships. I was initially employed as a copywriter/marketing assistant to update Crowd Media HQ’s blog, produce EDMs and reach out to influential marketers. However, this quickly changed when I was given the opportunity to manage Cacao Green’s social media channels. After just 2 weeks I was moved away from the Crowd Media HQ side of the business and become the head of social management for their respective client.

Without a direct manager to report to, I took it upon myself to create original content to generate interest and promote their ‘treat yourself well’ campaign. This involved comparing organic reach and paid reach for specific posts, designing promotional material for their halloween specials and the aforementioned treat yourself well campaign, creating and promoting the first-ever Cacao Green online newsletter in order to acquire more email addresses, and promote the very successful partnership with PayPal; A collaboration that proved to be our most successful promotion generating an immense increase in online traffic and in-store sales.

Idiot Box (part of Hearken Entertainment) is an online webseries created by Benjamin Bryan and Caitlyn Bryan. I was employed as a copywriter/social media manager across all social channels. During my period of employment, I was able to grow Idiot Box’s Facebook page from 96 followers to 1,500. And after adopting paid advertising, our reach hit record heights of 100,000+ views per video post. I was also in charge of the crowdfunding campaign providing necessary documentation and press releases when required – our goal of $5000 was reached as a result. Idiot Box was also selected as part of Melbourne’s WebFest’s “Spotlight on Melbourne” category.

Upstart is an online publication run by emerging journalists and former industry representatives. Based in Melbourne, at La Trobe University, Upstart welcomes contributions from students and emerging journalists wherever they may be across a wide range of categories including sport, politics, finance, lifestyle and more. Treated as an elective during my journalism degree, I was assigned as a weekly contributor for Upstart creating various pieces that covered various sporting codes including AFL, Rugby Union, and the A-League, along with a 4-part podcast series covering The Ashes. To add to this I voluntarily contributed political and lifestyle pieces including an editorial of Liberal MP Rowan Ramsey, the closure of the Palace Theatre, virtual technology on the rise and chairskating providing inspiration to disabled youth.

Native Bee is an Australian candle manufacturer specialising in handcrafted and uniquely designed beeswax candles using locally sourced organic Australian beeswax and lead-free cotton wicks. I was approached by the owner of Native Bee and tasked with providing copy for packaging, including instructions and the brand message, as well as product descriptions and titles for their online store on multiple occasions.

Carousell is a smartphone and web-based person to person marketplace for buying and selling new and secondhand goods. Originally a Singapore-base service, it has now expanded globally and since 2016 it has been assisting everyday Australians sell what they don’t need and find what they need. In the brief few months I was working for Carousell, I was tasked with creating a variety of push notifications for passive, responsive and first-time users, whilst conducting AB testing for achieve the best interactive numbers. I also pitched and ran a couple of marketing campaigns to help boost the amount of listings in the technology category and increase the amount of registered users simultaneously. To coincide with this outreach, I also proposed a tailored advertising campaign on the streaming service Pandora. As you can see from the image below, I crafted 4 different scripts to be played at alternating times during a monthly period.
